We’re excited to have Ravinder Pal Singh (Ravi), Chief of Information and Innovation for Vistara, joining us at the forthcoming Aviation Festival Asia 2017.
Ravi is an award winning technologist and has fathered various IT organisations and created their future technology avatars. As Chief of Information and Innovation for Vistara, the airline jointly owned by the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, he is taking the lead to consolidate, identify, acquire, evaluate and incubate right technology for the airline’s business. He is also working to induce innovation and thoughtfulness as core to Vistara’s culture, thereby creating communities and co-creation to realize ideas as true business differentiators.
Ravi will be joining us at Aviation Festival Asia 2017 to share insights on the big picture of digitising the airline business before zooming into the specific area of cloud computing.
CIO Forum: Digitising the airline business
Airline executives around the world see the need to invest in a digital future—to improve customer experience and streamline operations. While many leaders claim that they have the vision to change, realising their vision is a challenge. Legacy technologies, operational silos and cultural resistance create barriers in the airline industry that is traditionally known as lagging in digital innovation. Yet change must happen.
In this context, Ravi, as a holder of several technologies patents, will offer insights on the why, the what, and the how of digital transformation in the airline business, speaking at our CIO Forum on 21 February, alongside CIOs from AirAsia and Garuda Indonesia.
Cloud computing insights
After sharing the big picture on digitising the airline business, Ravid will give a detailed presentation on a particular aspect of the digital transformation – the cloud.
Most airlines have plans to enable cloud computing, but very few are there today. Provider and technology choices are growing, but making decisions is more complex. Successful projects need the right focus, goals, services, processes, staffing, technology and roadmaps. Ravi will join us to offer insights on the best and bad practices.
