India witnessed over 23% growth in domestic air travel demand in 2016, the highest in the world, and twice that of neighbouring China, according to IATA. International traffic is expected to grow at close to 10% in FY2017 and FY2018, yet remains well below its true potential of 15%-17% because of bilateral restrictions. Even so, India is set to become the world’s third largest aviation market. This extraordinary growth is creating tremendous opportunities, but there are also risks, with a lack of infrastructure, intense competition and a somewhat restrictive regulatory environment.
To make sense of how airlines and airports can thrive in this exciting and sometimes challenging market, we’re curating a dynamite keynote panel at Aviation Festival Asia 2018, showcasing major Indian airline and airport players as they share their insights:

Indian aviation: Towards a sustainable growth
After a strong FY2016, traffic growth has accelerated further in FY2017 and India has become the world’s third largest domestic market behind the U.S. and China. As India goes through one of the brightest periods of its economic and aviation growth, the prospects look more positive for sustainable growth than recent history has delivered. However, overcapacity, high input costs, intense competitions and inadequate infrastructure as well as skilled workers are to become major challenges for any airlines looking to thrive in this market. Join us as these airline leaders share their insights into this exciting market and its opportunities.
