#EduTECH Asia’s Webinar series has been put together to continue sharing with our education community, on what is upcoming in EdTech and how schools & universities are continuing with teaching and learning during the current challenging period. 


On 23rd April, we launched our third Webinar on “AI and Big Data: Opportunities and challenges for education?”. We put together a stellar line-up of speakers who shared their personal experience and insights on the impact of AI in education and the considerations to adopt AI

Moderating the panel was Prof. Looi Chee Kit, Professor at NIE and Co-Director, Centre of Research and Development in Learning, NTU, Singapore. Joining us as panellists were Chris Pang, Senior Lecturer, Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, Erica Southgate, Associate Professor of Education, University of Newcastle, Australia, Alan Ibbett, Chief Information Officer, Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong, Australia, and Grace Chow, Founder, Tadika Aktif, Malaysia.

As we all know, artificial intelligence plays a major influence on the state of education together and its implications are huge. In this 45-minute panel discussion, the panellists discussed the potential of AI to transform operation of education systems, and how it can empower learners and educators. They also shared strategies in advancing AI and big data capabilities with existing resources. The discussion also highlighted on how ethical issues can be a cause for concern during implementation. The last 15 minutes during the end of the webinar was dedicated to a live Q&A session giving audience the opportunity to ask their pressing questions.
