Deutsche Bahn has €10 billion to spend annually – can you help?

With 10 billion euros to be invested annually in the next five years, on upgrading its network and rolling stocks, Deutsche Bahn has established its International Procurement Office Asia  (IPO) based in Shanghai, China in search of new Asian suppliers to work with. Its head, Michael Boback will be joining us at Asia Pacific Rail in Hong Kong this March, to offer his insights into what Deutsche Bahn is looking for.

So who is Michael?

Michael Boback is the current Head of Deutsche Bahn’s new International Procurement Office in Asia and a rail procurement expert with over 16 years of experience. Not only did Michael establish the International Procurement Department, he also played significant roles in launching Railsponsible to ensure sustainability of supply chain, in managing tender criteria and supplier management and in helping Deutsche Bahn and its subsidaries saving millions of euros through its procurement strategies.

Michael will be sharing the procurement best practices and supplier management strategies behind DB’s success. He will also be touching on the opportunities and commercial and technical requirements to become a Deutsche Bahn supplier.
