At Asia Pacific Rail this year, Thales showcased their technological excellence and market leadership.
We spoke to Ludovic Lang and Marta Raposo of Thales to hear their insights and thoughts on the event.
On returning to Asia Pacific Rail
We haven’t been at Asia Pacific Rail since 2009 but we decided to come back because there are a lot of opportunities. Not only in Hong Kong but also in China and the region. Hong Kong is very international so we thought it would be a good idea to be here and cover all markets
On meeting the right people at the conference
We can meet our customers here in Hong Kong and also customers coming from Korea as well as partners like Huawei. It’s a good idea to have a big part of the team here and have lots of casual meetings with customers and partners instead of a formal one in each office. We can get a lot done in two days.
On the Asia Pacific Rail experience
The first day was really strong and the second day we’re able to meet press and a different players from Europe. So it’s good that we can get coverage in Hong Kong and Mainland. It’s great for us to not only meet partners and clients but also promote our brand. We have been meeting clients from across the region, including Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, China and Singapore, so it’s very good exposure.
The format is interesting comprising both a conference and exhibition and the speakers are outstanding, presenting interesting and concrete topics. For us, we can get their feedback, understand their concerns and strategy for the future. It is a good platform to show that we are in good health and very active, and to consolidate our leadership in the market.
