We recently caught up with the Director of Consumer Insights at Nielsen, Khoa Doan. In our conversation we discussed some of the challenges facing the future of the Vietnamese market, and why the topic of changing consumer needs in Vietnam is close to his heart.

Could you share something about yourself with our readers?

I am a seasoned researcher who is passionate about helping businesses to understand and predict the market and consumers’ dynamics.

Could you give our readers a quick teaser on what you will be speaking at the show?

I will be at Seamless Vietnam talking about how the changing Vietnamese consumer landscape and how the changes in Vietnamese consumers’ needs and behaviours shape the future of e-commerce, retail and payments.

Why is this topic close to your heart?

Having worked in retail, financial services and telecom technology research for more than a decade, it is my passion to contribute to the on-going understanding of consumers in the growing areas of e-commerce and payment in Vietnam.

What do you think the key challenges are around the future of the Vietnamese market?

I think that there are three key challenges facing businesses around the future of the Vietnamese market. The first is knowing how to execute your business with excellence. The second is how to offer consumers more (benefits, values…) with less (i.e. more convenient, more simple…). the final challenge is how to differentiate yourself from the competition and stand out.

Why are you excited to attend the show?

I am excited to help businesses to understand more about the uniqueness of Vietnamese market and consumers.
