[Press Release]: China Unicom Global Limited Establishes its Thailand Branch to Actively Promote the Interconnection among Countries along the Belt and Road Route

On March 18, 2018, China Unicom Operations (Thailand) Limited was formally established in Bangkok, Thailand. Located at the heart of the ASEAN region, Thailand is not only the hub of logistics, trade and finance across the region, but also a bridge, both literally and figuratively, between ASEAN and China. With the establishment of its Thailand branch, China Unicom Global Limited is set to plough Thailand and its surrounding markets to provide quality-assured communication infrastructures and value-added services for enterprises in Thailand and China to bolster regional and cross-regional development along the Belt and Road route.

China Unicom Global Limited is keen to align with the B&R initiative and the establishment of Thailand branch will greatly boost the information infrastructure development in Thailand and the countries along the Belt and Road route. Ms. Zhang Shenmin from Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Norasit Yorkhan who is the Vice President of Digital Investment and Industry Promotion, DEPA, and Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Shuai Lihua from the Thailand-China Trade Association, along with Mr. Chen Shuxiong, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of China Unicom Global Limited and other officials witnessed and celebrated the establishment of China Unicom Operations (Thailand) Limited. The participators also include the elites from Southeast Asian operators and well-developed Chinese enterprises in Thailand.
